Meet the Emerging Talent Behind the IAMT Talent Portal

Published On: 23 October, 2026

From a teenage passion for live sound to creative problem-solving on student production budgets, two rising MediaTech talents share their ambitions, the challenges of breaking into the industry and why the IAMT Talent Portal could help open the right doors.

Every industry talks about investing in its future. But what does that future look like?

Sometimes, it looks like a 13-year-old discovering a passion for audio technology that will go on to shape their career. Other times, it looks like a student finding ingenious ways to deliver professional-quality productions with little more than determination, creativity and a limited budget.

For students Sina Kunkel and George Blower those experiences have become the foundations of their ambitions.

Both have spent years developing their skills, and now they’re looking for the opportunity to turn that potential into a profession.

And that’s where the IAMT Talent Portal comes in.

Different Journeys, Shared Ambition

For Sina Kunkel, audio has been much more than an academic interest.

Her passion began at just 13 years old, sparking a journey that has since combined more than seven years of hands-on live sound engineering experience with formal Media Technology studies at RheinMain University of Applied Sciences.

Now, as she looks towards completing her Bachelor’s degree, Sina is eager to bring those two worlds together.

“I would love to be discovered by people who share the same passion for audio technology, especially mixing consoles, and by a company where I can grow while expanding my knowledge in audio R&D and engineering.”

For George Blower, the journey has been shaped by a different kind of challenge: learning to do more with less.

After five years studying and across student television, radio and personal projects, his experiences have taught him that limited resources don’t have to mean limited possibilities.

“I’d love to bring a creative approach to solving technical problems,” he explains, reflecting on the challenge of achieving professional-level outcomes on an education budget.

It’s that resourcefulness and freedom to experiment that George hopes to carry into his professional career.

The Talent Is There. But Is the Industry Finding It?

For emerging professionals, developing the right skills is only part of the challenge as getting those skills in front of the right people can be another hurdle entirely.

Traditional recruitment platforms may offer access to thousands of opportunities, but that scale doesn’t necessarily translate into meaningful connections. It’s a frustration that will resonate with many graduates navigating their first steps into a competitive industry during a time of historic youth unemployment.

As George puts it, “job boards [such as] Indeed and various other platforms really don’t work! You send a CV and you’re just a number on a screen.”

Sina shares a similar perspective, particularly when it comes to the pressure of maintaining visibility on broader professional networking platforms.

“Being visible on LinkedIn can take a lot of time. You’re expected to post regularly, build a network, and constantly stay active.”

For students already balancing their studies and career development, building an online presence can feel overwhelming. At IAMT, we believe discovering talent shouldn’t have to depend on who posts the most or knows the right people.

Connecting Potential with Opportunity

Created to bridge the gap between emerging talent and the global MediaTech industry, the IAMT Talent Portal offers students and graduates a dedicated and targeted platform to showcase their skills and experience to leading MediaTech organisations.

Unlike general recruitment platforms, its focus is entirely on MediaTech, helping to bring the right people and opportunities together.

“Both students and employers know what IAMT stands for. Having your profile on a platform specifically connected to IAMT immediately puts your skills and interests in the right context.”

George sees similar value in making the discovery process more focused.

“A platform where recruiters can filter through neatly organized profiles seems ideal. As a user it also ensures all the jobs are MediaTech related and I’m not overwhelmed by other listings unrelated to the field I want to work in.”

For employers, the IAMT Talent Portal offers an opportunity to discover the very best of next generation talent, reducing time sifting through endless CVs and instead levelling up your team with relevant capabilities to help you succeed and scale with fresh perspective.

Your Next Opportunity Could Start with a Profile

When asked what advice they would give other students and graduates considering joining the IAMT Talent Portal, Sina and George had one message: Just get started.

“Do it! It only takes a few minutes to get started,” says Sina.

She encourages students to begin with the basics, knowing they can return to build their profiles with projects, experience and additional skills over time.

“The more talent companies can discover, the more likely they are to keep coming back. And the more likely it is that YOU will be the person they discover.”

The Future of MediaTech Starts with People

MediaTech is continuously evolving, with new business and growth opportunities emerging each day. But behind every innovation are people: engineers, creators, problem-solvers and ambitious new voices bringing different perspectives to familiar challenges.

People like Sina and George.
