Meet the Editor

Roger Thornton
Roger brings more than 30 years of experience in the broadcast and media industry to his role as Editor of the IAMT Journal. Much of his career was spent at Quantel, at the heart of technological change in our sector, giving him a front-row seat to the evolution of MediaTech.
A long-standing supporter of IABM and now IAMT, Roger has seen the organisation grow into the broad, representative industry body it is today, and he brings that perspective to the Journal, shaping content that reflects both where the industry has come from and where it is heading.

Latest Issue
In the latest issue of the IAMT Journal (Issue 138, Q3 2026) we take on Efficiency: the tech and the activities driving it, from automation and intelligence to supply chain management and cloud-based workflows.
Inside you’ll find features on Next Generation Talent, Enterprise AV and the Content Chain, alongside the usual mix of member insight, analysis and industry comment. Plus a special World Cup supplement. The FIFA World Cup is more than a football tournament, it is one of the world’s largest live-production challenges, and this special edition highlights how many IAMT members helped power that global undertaking.
