Technology Corner

Pi Automation + EBU OGraf

A More Open Approach to On-Air Graphics.

What if broadcasters could create and customise on-air graphics using familiar web technologies and bring them directly into automated playout?

Workflowlabs is introducing an all-new HTML5 graphics engine for Pi Automation, bringing support for the EBU OGraf open specification for broadcast graphics.

Built around HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, OGraf enables designers to create and customise graphics using familiar web development and design tools, supporting greater creative freedom and a more vendor-independent approach.

From Graphics Design to Automated Playout

Pi Automation’s new graphics engine enables broadcasters to incorporate OGraf-compatible HTML graphics into their playout workflows.

From lower thirds and logos to tickers and information graphics, OGraf support gives broadcasters greater flexibility in designing and deploying graphics within automated playout.

The OGraf Studio demonstration showcases how HTML graphics can be brought into the Pi Automation environment for use during playout.
