Broadcast

A broadcast router is a device with multiple inputs and outputs, and internal switches which can switch any input to any output. It can be thought of as having a matrix architecture, and ‘Matrix’ is an alternative name for this type of device. The possible connections are known as ‘crosspoints’. Routers of this type are available for most analogue and digital broadcast related signals.
