Tico (Tiny Codec) is a compression system made by IntoPix and promoted by the Tico Alliance. It provides virtually lossless compression up to about 4:1 and is very low latency (a few milliseconds). It is lightweight and can run in hardware (FPGA or ASIC), or in software on a CPU core. Suggested uses are for Video over IP or reducing 4K UHD (possibly High Frame Rate) down to 3G SDI rates. It has been published by SMPTE as RDD 35
