The official standard for wireless Ethernet (WiFi). Includes 802.11a/b/g/n/ac which offer increasing speeds up to 1.3 Gb/s, using a mixture of 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands.
The 802.11 family consists of a series of half-duplex over-the-air modulation techniques that use the same basic system, including the use of Carrier Sense Multiple Access with Collision Avoidance (CSMA/CA).
