About
My name is Evelyn Sutkus, and I am a recent graduate from RIT with a degree in Motion Picture Science and a minor in Art of Science, Science of Art. My background spans computer vision, vision research, color science, and machine learning. I have experience conducting psychophysical research as well as developing image-generation workflows for a major media conglomerate.
My capstone project investigated aesthetic computation and image decomposition, a field focused on understanding and separating the different characteristics that make up an image, such as lighting, environment, and material. This work deepened my interest in using machine learning to tackle complex, non-linear problems in visual understanding.
My unique background has given me a perspective that combines technical problem-solving with an understanding of human vision and perception. I am interested in creating intelligent systems that help people work with and navigate complex visual information, particularly at the intersection of machine learning, creative tools, and human-centered design. If you are interested in building novel tools or interpreting visual data in thoughtful, human-centric ways, I’d love to connect.
