Dea Imami

I'm very passionate about the Live TV, Broadcasting world. I discovered it when I started university and it has become my favourite thing to do. I work on a lot of sports live streams with my society at university called Sonar Events, where we work on making a lot of broadcast shows. I'm the president of the society this upcoming university year. I also love OB productions. I recently worked at Camp Bestival as a tech trainee and at Boardmasters as a cam op with my university. It was one of the best experiences I've had.

I'm taking my last year at university to shadow as many roles as I can to find out which role I'm suited for. I'm always discovering new job roles in the industry. There's still so much to learn and that's exactly what I'm looking forward to learning this year. I'm hoping by the time I graduate I know what I want to do, I know I would like to work in OB but I also like the studio side, the possibilities are endless.

I've always liked being a camera operator, but then I discovered more roles. I've done a bit of everything on our livestreams, camera operator, EVS, directing, graphics. Recently I've been trying to learn more on the tech side. I like rigging when we do OB jobs but I still have so much to learn. I also want to practice with roles I'm more uncomfortable with, like directing, as I find it quite stressful, so I always stay away from it, but this year I want to put myself out there and try things I’m not 100% confident with, I also find that with roles I know better there's always something new to learn from different people.
