Monitoring Global Standards For Our Members
IAMT plays a long-standing role in monitoring global standards activity and reporting back to the industry, and that commitment continues. We remain deeply engaged in shaping the standards that matter most to our members, ensuring their interests are represented wherever key decisions are made.
But today’s environment demands deeper, more collaborative involvement. Many companies simply do not have the time or resources to track dozens of evolving standards, attend international committee meetings, or interpret early drafts that could reshape product development. IAMT bridges that gap. By connecting our technical specialists with the expertise inside member organisations, we make it possible to review emerging standards early, minimise disruption, and avoid costly surprises.
To support this, we have established the Standards Monitoring Group, open to any IAMT member with an interest in technology standards. The group provides access to in-development documents, a dedicated discussion channel, and a structured way for members to influence outcomes through IAMT’s formal representation on bodies such as SMPTE, AES, VSF, EBU and ABU. It ensures your insight helps shape standards in the best interests of the wider industry, without placing unnecessary demands on your time.
